A: CONNECT DIRECT WITHOUT
AN IRC
1. Return to the Home page
2. Select Chat
3. Select Go to
4. Enter the following:
Server address (something like irc.starlink-irc.org)
Port number (typically 6667)
The channel name (such as WebTV)
5. Select Connect
For mIRC
users .. copy and paste these lines in
"aliases" to make
connecting even easier.
Once loaded, for example, typing /ROCH will
connect you to the Rochester server.
MOTD: You can see
server message of the day information by
typing /MOTD Servername* when connected to IRC. Example, /MOTD Roch*
will display the MOTD for Rochester* no matter which server you're on.. LIST: You can get a complete channel list by typing /RAW

PROBLEMS - PROXY WARNING - DIRECPC USERS DIRECPC USERS
If you are having difficulty by being hit with a proxy warning when
connecting to StarLink-IRC FIND YOUR PROXY
1) Open a trouble ticket with your DirecPC tech support
2) Tell them you need to use their proxy to IRC
3) If that isn't successful, tell them that cookies don't work and you
need to use the proxy. SETUP mIRC
In connection/firewall...
1) set firewall support to both, protocol to proxy
2) hostname is the ip addy that you get from direcpc
3) port is 3128
